So often, we as women shrink from the word 'Power', we seem to equate it with 'abuse of power' and resist stepping into and embracing our own personal power. But the latter is how it's meant to be!!
We are meant to be accepting of just how powerful we are as women. It's fine to have solid convictions, beliefs and values; that's partly what makes us us.
Personal power; the total belief in the self and one's abilities yet at the same time being accepting and embracing one's frailties' for even the most powerful people are not perfect. Even the most powerful people need to ask for help and support sometimes - that is a sign of strength, not weakness.
As I become more comfortable with standing in my personal power, I can see and accept this. No doubt as I become even more comfortable with it. I will come to see and understand even more about it.
This word 'Power', so often misused, misunderstood and the same could be said of the power of the self.
We see it's use in the contemporary world as a means of controlling others, often with fear. But what about Empowering?
The empowering of others to be who they are meant to? The empowering of others to know who they truly are? The empowering of others to know their own strength, inner strength?
Now that truly is powerful!
A little while ago, I saw a Facebook post and for me this is so true: "Girls compete with each other, Women empower one another."
There is such strength in womanhood, there is such strength in sisterhood. Girls are just learning how to become powerful women, and it is our job to help them to do that. The more girls that grow, evolve and develop into powerful and strong women, the more there are to help empower their sisters. Let's raise our daughters to know their own strength and power.
There is such joy in sisterhood. So many times when I have been reading for female clients in recent months, there have been powerful messages that the woman before me needs to heal her lack of self confidence (which often results from childhood messages) and move towards stepping into their own personal power. To stand tall and proud, to know who they are and accept this, to establish boundaries and only accept being treated well. And that begins with treating themselves better, which starts with self love.
The key to so much begins with loving the self more, and so many beautiful souls are being encouraged to learn this very powerful lesson.
